My parents got me a diary for Christmas when I was 7 ½ years old. That’s how old my son is now!!! I recently dug it out from a big tub in the basement (I was looking for my junior high diaries for dirt on Jen), so I’ll be periodically baring my soul to ya’ll.

Tonight my mom and dad are going to see Jethro Tull. My aunt Santy is 18, and she is baby siting me. I am glad! I made Koolaid today. I like my friend Leslie and his brother little Cris. Today at school we had a substutute. Today in school we did geometry. We did not have centers.

Anybody know what the heck “centers” is? And aren’t my parents so cool, going to see Jethro Tull (they were 28 years old)? Now my aunt Sandy’s daughter babysits for MY kids!
So cute!
ReplyDeleteI'll see you that and raise you what I was writing about 20 years ago...(yes, all one sentence):
ReplyDeleteDear Diary, My favorite time of day is when I come back from Language Arts because I can get out of explaining what our words that are underlined in Mrs. Slaughter's manuel that she writes in hard-to-read cursive on the board.
*sigh* my love for run-ons began at such an early age.
"Centers" is a block of time during the school day when students have a group of different activities from which to choose. The students choose to start at "Station A." After a given period of time (10-15 min.), the students change stations for another 10-15 min. time period. Usually there are 3-4 stations to experience in any given Centers block. While all of this is happening, the teacher might conduct reading groups, math groups, etc...
ReplyDeleteI hope that helps...
Ur parental units sound like total L7 dorks. Couldn't they get in to see the Bat City Rollers that night?
